“From the early days of my childhood, I found myself drawn to the world of arts. It took me a while to understand why I loved it so much, but the answer was right at home – my mother. She was an artist, created beautiful works that inspired me from the very beginning. Although I pursued a diploma in ECE and engineering, fields unrelated to design, my passion for art was always a part of me.
I didn’t undergo any special courses to become a designer; instead, it was fueled by my passion, hard work, and deep interest in my craft. My journey into designing began during my college days when I focused on creating minimal designs. This led to people calling me ‘Minimal Rajesh,’ known for designs that were simple, clean, and rich in meaning.
After graduating, I was jobless for a year. It was during this time that I made a crucial decision – to turn my passion for designing into a profession. The minimal concept I initiated, especially in designs related to movies, gained reach. Designing became my way of telling stories, just like my mom used to do with her art. When the pandemic hit, I made some designs about COVID-19 that really connected with people. They went viral and helped me gain recognition.
Sadly, my mom isn’t here to see my success. She passed away from cancer, leaving a big hole in my life. But even though she’s gone, her spirit lives on in my work. Everything I achieve in art and life is a result of her influence – her passion and encouragement transformed me into an artist. Today, with 10+ years of experience in designing, I take pride in collaborating with influencers, personalities, and brands to tell their stories through my designs.
Not every design of mine achieves fame and recognition. Some get to the scrap before even reaching Instagram, and there are challenges in solving the minimal design puzzle. In the tough times my dad, close friends, and cousins help me to grow in the design field.
Designing is a mixture of art and engineering. You need to figure out the dimensions and the purpose well in advance. But figuring things out and seeing my designs come to life is what I love most about this job.
Reaching the desired output is tough, but once it’s out, the world begins to understand your language.
It took me nearly a decade to get to where I am today. The results you desire might be just a few weeks away, so never give up on following your passion.”
